Alona Tal

Alona Tal, an Israeli-American actor and singer was born on the 20th of October 20th, 1983, in Herzliya, Israel. Her career began as a soldier as a member of the Israeli Defense Forces. Her breakthrough was in 2003 when she starred in an Israeli film. At the time , she starred in two television series in Israel, and was also a musician and recorded a number of songs together with Israeli rapper Subliminal. Tal was able to move in with her sister in New York in order to be away from her professional life. In New York, she collaborated with Haitian artist Wyclef Jean in the song "Party to Damascus". She also made a name for herself on American television, with a recurring part in the series Veronica Mars: She originally attempted to audition for the lead role but the creator Rob Thomas wrote a new character just for her. Later, Tal was offered a regular part in the CBS series. Before moving to New York, Tal starred in two Israeli television programs. Recorded a hit song with singer Wyclef Jean. Her native language is Hebrew. Second choice for the character as Veronica in Veronica Mars (2004).Originally auditioned for Veronica Mars (2004) and was Rob Thomas' second choice for the title role. Thomas loved her so much that he decided to make the role of Meg Manning for her. She was in the Israeli Defense Forces. Both her parents are Jewish--her father is Turkish/Jewish and her mother is Polish/Jewish. She plays the role of Adrian Monk's wife. She was murdered in the finale episode of Monk (2002).
